Hello GMTJay,
I have added a new request (ID: VC4D-1318 ) for implementing the Grid shader inside V-Ray 5. We also have an existing request for implementing the VRayEdgeTex Shader (ID: VC4D-917). However, I am afraid that I cannot provide any specific time frames for when those shaders will be added.

Hi Sirio, yeah, I actually meant the Grid Shader, but kept typing edge shader (not enough coffee).
C4D's tile shader was the first thing I tried, but it's taking a while to get it to work as well for me as the Grid Shader did. This is geometry wrapped along a spline, and I was getting bad distortions in the bulges with C4D's tile shader that I wasn't getting with V-ray's Grid Shader. But maybe there's something wrong with my spline set up.

For things like that a C4D tile shader will be enough. Edge shader will be useful for other things though so I hope they will add it soon. You can get something similar also by tuning the curvature shader but is not efficient at all.

Edge Shader?
I'm converting an older scene to V-ray 5 that relied heavily on the 3.7 V-ray Grid Shader for this mesh product:
Any chance the Grid shader is going to be added back, like, really soon? I'm kind of stuck on how to move forward. Alternative suggestions welcome.
