  • Viewport View / Output Size Zoom Discrepancy

Would anybody know why there is such a discrepancy between what I see in the viewport crop and what I get in my render outputs? It makes it really difficult to animate accurately.
    Zoom is set to 1.

It is the correct physical behavior of a real camera, the effect is called lens breathing. If you don’t want the effect you can choose the pinhole camera inside the overrides, this will simulate a camera without lens and don’t produce lens breathing.

Thanks shaio – I also found that by turning on 'Specify Field of View' in Physical Camera (without changing the setting), the render matches the viewport.

Lens breathing is always present, it is just more or less visible depending on camera settings. If you need a perfect viewport match go for the pinhole camera.
