Here's the new feature highlights:
- A redesigned V-Ray Frame Buffer with a new Layer Compositor you can use to fine-tune your images
- Streamlined Renderer UI to improve your rendering workflow with fewer tweaks and less clicks
- The V-Ray 5 Material Library containing over 500 render-ready materials including metals, glass, wood and more
- Light Path Expressions that allow you to construct your own render passes
- Simplified acesCG workflow so V-Ray 5 can automatically convert the colors of textures, light temperatures, etc. to the correct color space, without the need of additional nodes
- A new Sun & Sky analytical model dramatically improves lighting at sunrise and sunset.
- Sheen layer for the V-Ray Material so you can easily achieve soft microfiber fabrics like velvet, satin and silk
- Coat layer for the V-Ray material so you can render faster and more efficiently
- The V-Ray Volume Grid texture for sampling voxel data, with the end goal of providing tighter integration between V-Ray and Houdini’s native Ocean toolset down the line. Native ocean rendering is still being developed.
- Stochastic texture tiling with the new UV Randomizer VOP
