  • Output Naming from Light Mix Render Element Differs Between V-Ray for Houdini and V-Ray for Maya

Using V-Ray for Houdini hash: faf8cf1 and Core 5.00.50
    Houdini 18.5

    Using V-Ray for Maya hotfix 2 (v5.00.22 from Dec 8 2020)
    Maya 2020

In Houdini when using the light mix render element and the light group parameter set to Instanced Lights I get the output of Environment, Emission, and one aov for each light in the scene.

In Maya when using the light mix render element and the group by parameter set to Instanced Lights I get the output of Environment, Self Illumination, and one aov for each light in the scene. (Note this is not the same as the Self Illumination render element in Maya that is used to build back to the beauty)

Is the difference in naming intentional?

This is breaking lighting templates that have been setup as we are moving more lighting into Houdini and keeping a setup for both. Having Houdni generate Emission and Maya with Self Illumination from Light Mix doesn't allow us to maintain outputs.

Our goal is to be using V-Ray for Nuke, Houdini, Maya, and Max all with the same outputs.
