  • Yeti and fresnel style fall off from underlying shader.

    Hi Guys,

I am using a shader with a old school sampler info node/ facing ratio and ramp to get a velvet effect on a fabric material.

I want to use to use some yeti fur to break up the silhouette of the mesh - but keep the general shading of the mesh. However when I apply my shader to the fur it uses the normals of the fur and not the underlying colours. This means the effect becomes very flat looking and loses that velvet effect.

Is there a way for the hair to take the colour of the underlying mesh after the sampler info node has taken effect? Maybe a hair sampler node or something i am missing?

The effect i am looking for is that the hairs facing the camera are dark and the hairs perpendicular to the camera are lighter.

    Many thanks!
