  • Distributed Rendering only in one direction successfull - black buckets / no lights

    Hey guys,

what could be a possible cause for a simple animation (cube translates within 20 frames + 1 dome light), that if machine 1 starts the rendering, the buckets of machine 2 are black and it says there are no lights in scene. But if machine 2 starts the same rendering, everything works fine and all frames are rendered correctly. The scene was initially created by machine 1. We are currently out of clue.
Both machines respond to the render request, servers are running but we have this weird phenomena.
    We run on MacOS 15.1 / Maya 2024 and Core is 6.20.09 / Standalone 6 - update 2.1
    Machine 1 = MacPro 2019
    Machine 2 = Mac Studio 2022

    Any ideas anyone?

    Thanks in advance

I've run into similar issues.... Have you tried making sure both machines have "transfer missing assets" unchecked, and caching disabled? If both machines are able to access all source assets directly this shouldn't happen. I have found these features of DR to cause problems, even though in theory they are supposed to prevent such issues ironically in some cases they are the cause.

      Hey Thanks for the response.
I will check this on monday. I am pretty sure „transfer missing assets was checked “ on one side, because, as you already said” it should be the safe way.
      I’ll let you know.

      cheers
