  • Refraction bug when doing vray scene conversion.

Using the Vray 1.5 release, and a Vray nightly build.

This does not happen when working locally. Only when submitting to the farm. I think there is a totally different vray scene conversion when this happens.

Using the 1.5 release basically ignores rectangle lights in the refractions.. So I can't actually use this build to do anything at all.

I have geometry slicing through each other viewable in the refractions when I submit my renders to the farm. This happens when rendering the dev version, and the release version on the farm. It doesn't happen when I do a local render.

I managed to find a solution for this and it goes away. If I scale up the geo that is refracting which is placed in back of the refracting geometry, it's gone. The objects behind the refracting object are textured using a Camera Project and light matterial from vray.

    Dev Version used:

    /mayavray_2009-1.50.00-1.90.03_linux_64/maya2009-x64/

We tried to use a newer dev version but all diffuse textures would disappear when rendering. Vlado, has the diffuse texture bug been fixed?

    Also when using

    Build:
    /mayavray_2009-1.50.00-1.90.03_linux_64/maya2009-x64/

If I have render layers with render overrides on an object that has vrayobject properites nodes, it causes the render farm to fail on the render. So if I use Build:

    /mayavray_2009-1.50.00-1.90.03_linux_64/maya2009-x64/

I can't use vray object properties, but I do get correct refractions which include all light rectangles....

Would be nice to have a build that actually works though.. Please let me know what your thoughts are, and if you want to swing by the studio to see these errors first hand, let me know.

    Thanks!
