Beta 2 + Maya 64 2012 "Show VFB" no longer working

After a render however this button and command works as per normal. It's just before Maya does any render at all the button is broken.

I seem to remember this being fixed in the older version of the VFB in 2011 so I thought it might be worth mentioning that it seems to be back again.
