Based on the current 'resize all textures' options in the render settings, if to make it more flexible to have it based on maya object sets, with options to control the texture size based on those. So background geo could be easily added to a set, which resizes to 1 specified size, mid range objects in another set..given another size etc. Might help with getting around gpu memory limits a little more?
