  • Nightlies vs Release version

Are the nightlies generally stable enough to adopt? I have a bug or two that I posted and wanted to go back and check if they were improved. I'm not saving the world with my rendering, so if I encounter errors, I can roll back. I assume we can't keep multiple versions on the same machine easily?

    Thanks,
    Mark

At this time, yes, because they are based on a stable release branch and only V-Ray for MODO specific changes go in, no changes to the V-Ray core are being made.

It can be done with some .bat files, not quite easy. You basically need to
    - change the VRAY_MODO_INSTALL_PATH environment variable before starting MODO
    - replace %APPDATA%/Luxology/Configs/vray4modo.cfg with one that points to the V-Ray for MODO version you want to use

The release versioning has changed a few times since then. ... through 10.2 were qualified with tagReviews: Experimental, Nightly, Release Candidate, and Stable. ... CM 10.2.0.0 and CM 10.2.1.0. d signifies a bugfix or hotfix version

As a general workflow: install nightly build before reporting a bug.
