  • Make Vray assetts unit independent in Viewport

I noticed that I assume Vray uses Meters as its base reference unit. We usually work in Millimeters and now things like Camera (from Grasshopper) are tiny. The sun for example is zoom indipendent, so it always stays the same size. The same should be true for cameras. If the file is set to Millimeters the camera in the viewport is now tiny.

Also I noticed that if you add for example an area light in the Assett Editor it is now tiny. Well its 2x2 Millimeters. Of course due to Rhino's ridicolous way of basically not showing you how big things are or just showing you the basic transforms (translation, rotation, scale) like literally every 3D software since the beginning of 3D software, its actually not that easy to set the size to a correct size.

Actually you can see the size if you go to Object Properties and then "Details..", because .. yeah.. why make it easy.

So it would be nice to have:

    1. The camera icon being zoom indipendent like the sun

    2. The default Size for ligths to respect units set in Rhino

ps: I feel really sorry for the V-Ray for Rhino devs. Rhino has just made some really weird decisions like 20 years ago and while they offer some amazing functionality, revisiting the basics that we are used to in other 3D software is just not something they are interested in. Hhhmppff.
