Trying to make a laser cut acrylic with a convincing edge (not black) has proven to be a tricky thing. I am curious what our architect users set their glass settings at to get a good representation of this.
Here is where I am at-
I import the stock frosted green glass vismat, and then turn the fog to near white. Then I pull the refration down from 1.55 to 1.35, increase the glossiness from .8 to .9. In reflection, I increase to .9 on highlight and reflection gloss.
I dunno, I am close I just wish the computer would figure something other than black as the exit color of the edge...I don't know. If anyone wishes to share their settings, please feel free.
I loved Micha's tutorials on making materials, but I don't know if I just missed this or what.

PS-Also, simple planes is turned on.
