Wrapper material won't cast shadows

Hi,

I have a scene with a wrapper material but for some reason I can't cast shadows onto the ground plane with the wrapper mtl.
I tried with a sun and also with a dome light.
Attached is a scene with the basic elements.
What am I missing ? ...
