I have seen this a few times and decided I would post to see if this a bug or just get an answer to why this does what it does.
I have some materials in my SketchUp library that have some old VRay attributes associated with them. I noticed that these materials when they come into the latest VRay, It keeps the Diffuse layer in the old material but takes the map and places it inside of a Color Correction texture, places the map in linear rendering space with the gamma set to .454545. It results in a material that renders too dark.
