  • Color Studies in VFB

It is a very common thing at the office that we will cook out a render and then we will want to adjust or just flat-out change the color of a material. Now my go-to is just use the ID channel and make the HSV adjustment in Photoshop. When you have an exterior with shadowing though, the shadow colors also get adjusted and it looks unnatural. I was wondering if anyone has a workflow that allows you to adjust the color of a material, lets say changing the hue and saturation quite a bit (ie red stucco to yellow) and get natural-looking shadows?

This makes me think of Motiva Colimo (seems no longer supported) where you could not only change material colors (and it updated reflections and refractions) but you could also change textures! Maybe this needs to be a feature request?
