Hello,
New to Vray, but now starting to get the hang of it. I have a reflection question. In 3D studio, when doing vertical glass, I used to set up the reflection attribute with a bitmap image of a landscape view (or something), and give the glass a blue colour with about 75% transparency. This was a short cut to ray tracing the actual reflection of the scene in the diffuse colour attribute, and gave the impression the bitmap image was reflected in the glass. Pretty simple, and quick renderings; when animated, the reflection would pan in the opposite direction to the cameras. It work ok, and was a good quick fix.
This technique did not require any UVW mapping, as the amount of image visible was a function of the angle of incidence with the glass.
Anything similar in Vray for SU? and also, what is the reflection parameter in the ‘maps’ roll out for in a basic material (i.e just a diffuse layer) - it seems to do nothing, irrespective whether a reflection layer is added. How does this parameter affect a reflection layer, if at all?
Thanks
Thanks
