  • GPU Rendering failing

Hello, this happens to me quite often on different scenes.

Would just like to know what this error means and how to avoid it in future. thanks

You may be running out of VRAM. Check your VRAM usage with a monitoring software like GPU-Z and see if that is indeed the case. If that is indeed the case you would need to optimize your scene for GPU rendering (i,e, using texture mipmapping, lower size textures, etc.).

      Hello,

Thank you for your reply, I've tried lowering the texture res, used mipmapping and even tried out of core memory (which just crashed the program). Doesnt seem to help. Strange thing is I'm just using elements from the new Vray object library.

I guess its just too much to ask of the GPU I have.

Well, it depends on the scene itself. Do share the results of the GPU usage to be certain if this is indeed the case. Otherwise, the scene would be required for further testing.
