It appears that ifl files containing bitmap sequences are not supported in V-Ray RT.
The console shows this message:
warning: Bitmap file "\\server\maps\1105-00.ifl" failed to load: error in file format
The ifl-file was created by max using the sequence checkbox during file open from a bitmap-slot, the file contains jpg's with included image-paths.
