  • Max 2014 Vray Cameras don't update

I just upgraded to max 2014 and installed vray 2.40.04 and I am running into a problem with Rt when I use any cameras. When I start RT from a viewport that has a camera active (vray or standard), everything looks fine and it starts rendering, but if I move the camera RT does not update. If I move geometry in the scene the geometry moves and renders fine, but nothing from the camera controls. Perspective views work fine, but moving the camera and changing camera settings does not affect the active rendering. Any help would be appreciated.

It's happening here. In perspective view it updates fine but when I activate a Vraycam view it's locked and does not update view changes. Material changes do work. Actually it doesn't work in -13 or -14.

Also sorry if this does not relate but Make RT-animation preview only renders the first frame.

Camera updates fine in CPU mode but only renders first frame with GPU. As I move forward in time and the camera moves The Nvidia driver crash and Max has to be restarted.
It also forces Firefox to reboot.

          I have 2 x GeForce GTX 650 Driver: 320.49

Still it works just fine in GPU mode if I ony use Perspective view.

          UPDATE:
It's material related. I used the override mtl and it works fine.
Bugger, now I have to find the material causing this.

Still Preview animation with RT only computes the first frame. I set the Max. path per pixel to 128 and it's done and saved in 16 seconds. after that nothing happens.

I have tested all those cases - and everything works fine here.
If you have a reproducible scene - please send it to us for investigation.

Preview Animation with RT is a very old feature which is outdated and I guess it won't be developed anymore - for rendering Animation with RT please assign Vray RT as a Production Renderer and render your animation just like with Vray Production Renderer.

May I please, please, please (I'm begging here) request that you keep the RT/GPU Render Preview feature up to date? It's really, really useful when you need a quick preview animation (and let's face it, RT/GPU kicks total butt here). I use it all the time and I always feature it in my corporate training sessions when I'm showing folks how to quickly create materials, lighting, camera paths and such with RT/GPU.

This is true especially when you have the production renderer set up already for standard Vray and you find that that changing back to the production renderer after a test cancels all the production settings and you have to set it up all over again! ACK!

It is just so, so good to have...

              Please Vlado?

I strongly agree here...Please keep RT/GPU Render Preview feature up to date.
