  • Vray RT color differences

    Why is RT rendering with color differences compared to the ADV production renderer? I remember having these issues before, are they still not fixed or is there something in the shader not supported? this scene is just Forest pro preset items.

    It is because RT is completely different engine in the current version of V-Ray.
    Is this CPU or GPU ? Either of those, even if only with presets, it will be best to send the scene to look over it. I would guess that it is some forest pro specific shader.
    V-Ray fan.

      Sorry forgot to specify which one, RT CPU renders just like VRay ADV. RT GPU render different like you see. I have the scene for you but it's 57mb, I have a ftp from you guys for another support thread, do you want me to put it in there?

            Thank you very much for the scene.
            It seems that the Forest Color and Color Correction maps are not fully supported and their are rendered slightly different on the RT CPU, the difference is not so drastic though.

              But the trees don't have color correction or forest maps, and they have the same issues. It doesn't seem to happen on RT Cpu, only RT GPU.

                The difference is due to the fact that the GPU still calculates reflections for the leaf material even though they are disabled. Please note that V-Ray RT GPU doesn't support Trace reflections options. If you enable Trace reflections option this material will render as with the CPU.

                Edit: This behavior will reproduce only when having Highlight glossiness value less than one. I'll make a not about that.
