I’m opening up a shot from earlier this year done in 1.5. I’m rendering now in 2.0 and the objects are completely blown out and the background is very dark, compared to what it was. Are there different color mapping setting or anything that have changed in 2.0?
Nothing too complex in the scene. Using vrayMTL shader and a fog volume.
Thanks,
Oliver
There is also a vray sun.. Maybe something in that changed?
Any help would be appreciated..
Thanks,
Oliver
Do you see any warnings or errors in the Script Editor when you load that scene ?
For me I see a lot of these, since we upgraded to 2.0 :
// Error: line 0: The VRayMtl ‘VRayMtl2’ has no ‘col’ attribute. //
// Error: line 0: Node “VRayMtl2” has no attribute “col”. //
It only happens with projects that began in 1.5 , and needed some more work in 2.0
(you know, you deliver a project to the client, and 3 months later he wants something different…)
I haven’t checked if the results are really different.
Hi,
As stated many times, in 1.5 we had a hack that lowered the intensity of the, sun when there was no physical camera in the scene.
In 2.0 we removed the hack and now all old scenes with sun and no physical camera are blown out.
To correct the intensity, so you get the same render as 1.5, you can multiply it by 0.0625.
These are harmless, ignore them.
Seems to working now, I had to turn down the sunlight from .6 to .045 and the color correct gamma to 1.. don’t know what the actual problem is, but close enough for me!
Thanks for the input.
Hi,
Sorry I didn’t see the answer before.
THanks for the reply.
I will adjust my scene accordingly.
Thanks Again,
Oliver
