2,610,000,000 polys tree forest...

Just a test for…test… the ground is a box without any texture.

many nice trees =)

ale

forget to say it tooks only to render 12min on my quad core XEON X3210@3600Mhz with 3Gb of RAM(more than 1gb was empty).

VRay RULEZ!

Nice 2.6 billion.
I have done 11 billion once.. lost and lost of instance proxies hehe.

Trees look nice

When I would have fineshed this project (that was just a render test) I promise you DaForce 11.5 billion

hehehe nice

hey, I just got a duel core with 6 gigs of ram (3 gigs each)- care to send me the file so I can test it?

Very impressive!

onyx? speedtree?

hmmm nize  now add some displacement to the ground  and some nice textures

Are there only one type of a tree - instances? or some different types?
For one tree - it`s no problem, but when you have about 15-20 types of trees (3-5 Mpoly each) …

Old Onyx exports made years ago.
There are only 3 differents trees exported as VRayMesh and instanced.
Then I have assigned a radom transform and material (5 differents materials) to the 5800 instances.

Yhen I have press RENDER

thanks

This would be a short animation, and not a still images… so I will see if I displace something, but what is certain is that I will use motion blur and since I m a bit short in term of memory (only 1Gb left), I m not sure to use things like displacement, fur etc…
I will see.

looks great! now turn on area shadows for your sun, and see if it still renders so quick.

Then I have assigned a radom transform and material (5 differents materials) to the 5800 instances.

Is there a script that can assign the materials randomly or how did you do that?

Preisler

i use a script from SoulburnScripts from soulburn3d.com script created by Neil Blevins

Looks cool, and with such low memory use. An ani would be sweet

When you say …3 gigs each…Do you mean 3 for each core? That makes sense…So thats why my computer runs so slow…I am upgrading to 8 gigs next week, so that should make a difference…

:lol::lol: no no no no:lol: only 3gb total, not for each core…

Yeah, I have 3 Gigs for each core for a total of 6… its much faster than the old HP laptop Iwas using before this mahine - night a day to be exact!
