hi. i submitted a job for rendering, my settings in 3ds max have top/bottom, 360 stereo view, vray gpu rendering and i submit to chaos cloud for render. 3840x3840 is my render size in 3ds max.
in the vray frame buffer, when i hit render, i get the correct 180degree x 360degree top/bottom render. when i submitting it to chaos cloud for render, it says resolution is 3840x1920 and i see only that one image in the preview.
can cloud not render a stereoscopic top/bottom 360 pano?
here are the settings i have in 3ds max 2025. initially when i opened the file this morning i saw that the common tab had a size of 3840x1920. not sure why that changed, i had it 3840x3840 yesterday (maybe i never hit save). anyway, i just tried a preview with this and got 1 view, but it was square. the preview was from within the submit to chaos cloud.
so i’m not using a camera helper if that matters. i’ve always just done the settings below?
EIDT** sorry, i did have it set to 3840x1920. that gives me the top/bottom image
EDIT** Darn, that’s not right either. it should be a 2:1 left eye on top of 2:1 right eye for a total image aspect ratio of 1:1
ok now i have this in my scene. only one camera in scene, left my settings as above. then created the vraystereoscopic helper, set eye distance and changed output layout.
I found two issues:
One in CPU: VRayStereoscopic helper’s “Adjust Resolution” is not considered when submitting a job through 3ds Max. This works fine locally and in STD. I’ve logged it as VMAX-15415.
One in GPU: The automatic resolution adjustment from Stereoscopic rendering does not work in Standalone/Cloud. This works only locally. Logged as: VGPU-7064.
To bypass both and get correct results in the Chaos Cloud, you need to manually adjust the 3ds Max resolution before submitting. For Left/Right: Width * 2 x Height. For Top/Bottom: Width x Height. * 2
yes! Issue 2 was mine. I ended up doing what you did, setting 3ds max to be the full square pixel dimensions ex) 640x640. i never have used that helper before, that’s interesting. that too was pretty strait forward and i never adjusted anything. i must have mistakenly gotten the above render messed up out-of-square px dimensions. -- i was in panic mode ha.
