3D Model Generator in Cosmos

Hi all,

We are excited to share with you the beta release of our new feature: 3D Model Generator.

This tool lets you generate custom 3D models from a single reference image, all within the Cosmos Browser. The generated models are ready to use directly in V-Ray, Corona, Vantage, and Envision - just update your Cosmos Browser to get access. Enscape support is coming soon.

:information_source: Beta notice: No credits are consumed during the Beta period, but there is a cap on the number of generations per user. A Solo, Premium, or Collection license is required.

To help you get started, here is some useful info.

Access the 3D Model Generator

Open Cosmos Browser and make sure you’re signed in and using the latest version of Cosmos. From the home page, you can reach the generator by clicking the AI Assets Generator banner.

Upload image

Upload a reference image in the Image section. This is the only input required to start generation.

Settings (Optional)

Before generating, you can adjust parameters. The available options depend on the selected Model.

Microsoft TRELLIS.2

  • Preset - The quickest way to configure quality vs. speed. Choose between Draft, Medium (default), or High. Each preset bundles the Resolution, Polycount, and Texture resolution settings together.
  • Resolution - Sets the voxel grid density used to build the shape. Higher values capture finer details but take longer.
  • Polycount - Sets the polycount of the exported mesh. Note that this only affects file size - to add more detail, increase Resolution instead.
  • Texture resolution - Sets the size of the final textures.
  • Shape fidelity (Experimental) - Controls how closely the AI matches your reference image when building geometry. Lower values simplify small details, while higher values stick closer to the reference but may introduce unwanted detail.

:information_source: The TRELLIS.2 model requires accepting additional Special Terms before generation can begin. This is a one-time step.

We’re also working on a second model - stay tuned for the announcement soon!

Generate and preview the model

Click Generate to start. Generation runs in stages and the time varies depending on your settings - it can take between 3-5 minutes.

Once complete, you can inspect the result in the 3D viewer using two display modes:

  • Textured - final model with textures applied.
  • Geometry - clay view to inspect the mesh shape.

Download and save the model

When you’re happy with the result, click Download, enter a name, and click Save. The model will be saved to the AI-Generated category in Cosmos. To find it later, go to the Home page and choose AI Generated card or switch to the Downloaded tab and look for the AI-Generated category.

:warning: If you navigate away before saving, the generated model will be permanently lost.

Feedback

After trying the 3D Model Generator, we’d love to hear what you think. You can leave feedback after generation by opening the detailed view of the asset and clicking the Rate button (star icon in upper right corner). Or of course, you can share your thoughts here in the forum.

Known limitations

  • Imported models may appear very small in the viewport. Scale them up to the correct size.
  • Objects may appear mirrored when imported.

Best regards,
The Chaos Cosmos Team

Hi all, we’re happy to announce that a second model is now available - Tencent HY3D!

With HY3D you can generate models with higher polycount options (up to 1.5M polygons), making it a great choice when you need more detail.

Give it a try and let us know what you think! :slightly_smiling_face:
