I have been bitten by the AD bug too often. Iā€™ll wait for everyone else to endure the AD pain machine first :). I mean, common. The last MAX 2023 update bricked MAX for everyone, for a month; I persoanlly had to roll back.

This is a generally wise approach: the ā€œhiddenā€ cost of early adoption is actually a thing, and not for AD products only either.

We ā€˜shouldā€™ be older and wiser by this point, so any adverse outcomes are surely down to silliness :stuck_out_tongue:

That is of course not to say that some software updates are done from the server side and can mess things upā€¦see the post on Cosmos downloads as an exampleā€¦

Well I think we should be happy that the offering is inticing enough that weā€™re actually considering the risk of early adoption. The last few releases have been commendable given their history.

Umā€¦I got a specific BitDefender alert from the nightlyā€¦ Named TrickOrTreat.Gen.1.
The reason I mention it is that Iā€™ve never once had an alert like this from anything at all
in my memory, so thought it worth mentioning.
I wonā€™t install this until it can be verified as some bizarre false positive :stuck_out_tongue:

Can you say which build was that? We had some similar cases recently and they were all false-positives.

It was the nightly for Max 24, so thereā€™s just the one.
The alert popped up as I tried to extract from the zip, but whatever it found it quarantined it and left the .exe extracted, so
I installed it and so far my bank balance and my data remains intact :stuck_out_tongue:

Itā€™s not just one :slight_smile: You have a new one (almost) every day. And why are you worrying about bank balances when the inflation will eat them anyway :stuck_out_tongue:

Ah okā€¦at the time I got it I saw only one: vray_adv_61005_max2024_x64_32000_install

My current balance is so small that I donā€™t have to worry about it anyway :stuck_out_tongue:

Yes it would be wonderful if there would be a support for Vray 5 on Max 2024. Since this Version is unexpectedly still very common. ( but I think there are reasons for it =)
It would be great to support those ones still as well.
