I have just instaled 4 gb of ram but Windows(32bit) only sees 3gb.
3gb switch is on
OS : win 2003 server
Mobo: P5W64 WS
Is ther anything I can do , appart from Win(64bit) ?
Nope nothing you can do.
Thats just windowsxp 32bit for ya.
don’t worry. It’s still being used. You didn’t waste your money. You can only access 3Gigs. It just doesn’t show you the 1gig that windows uses.
I had some bookmarks at microsoft’s website, but I lost them. If you do a search for the 3gig switch it’ll explain it somewhere there. You are wasting Some memory, but there is still an advantage 4 gigs gives you over 3 gigs. I have 3gigs, but can only usually use about 2.5 - 2.8 gigs, depending on what windows takes, before crashing. You’ll be able to use all the way up to 3 gigs.
