The bottom line says it started receiving the scene; before that, it wasn’t able to connect (a generic issue when not making a proper connection). I think you just need to wait it out. ---

Sorry, no. This is after waiting one hour. Scene gets transferred, 3dsMax crashes for the client, it starts all over. Yeah, I reproduced it, too. It looks like a memory issue. How much RAM do the machines that hang have? ---

128GB. Turning off displacement does help, it seems. ---

I’m not sure if it’s that anymore. I feel like there’s DR hits a timeout or something while transferring the file. If I delete stuff to make the scene smaller (2GB), it starts rendering without issue. Need to ask the devs about this. ---

Yeah, all the scenes which are rendering fine are smaller. Sadly scene files like this are common these days. ---

Try installing **V-Ray DR1** , as it appears to be more stable than DR2. I experienced a similar issue with distributed rendering, but after switching back to DR1, everything worked smoothly. **I recommend giving DR1 a try to see if it resolves the issue.** ---

I just tried with DR1 and it indeed works properly. Also, I managed to reproduce the issue in another scene (5gb). Already discussing the matter with the devs. Will reply back with more info. ---

Turns out the issue is already fixed in the internal builds. We’ll try to patch the next stable build. ---

When is this fix to be expected? Right now most of our jobs can not render via DR since most of our jobs exceed the 2gb limit. ---

It’s not listed, but it should be in the [latest 7.5 release](https://forums.chaos.com/t/v-ray-7-update-5-is-now-available/192299) and in the [latest 7.4 stable](https://my.chaos.com/download/builds?product=V-Ray&build-type=stable&tags=windows-x64&platform=3ds+Max&platform-version=2027&major-version=7&page=1).
