Hi all,
Here are a few renderings from a 90m yacht I designed. Crits and comments are very welcome. Thanks to Micha for the PS tips and help with Vray!
Renderings averaged about 3hrs, 2048x1024, on a 6cpu (q6700) farm.
Cheers,
John Cantu

Re: 90 meter mega yacht by Nautilus Studio
Fantastic yacht and rendering!
Is it water and ice model and render?
And how do you create?
Thanks and congratulations!
Sorry for my bad english!
Re: 90 meter mega yacht by Nautilus Studio
Ahh a question every one who has ever rendered would love to hear!
Everything is rendered, the icebergs/glacier are meshes I created with with a rough shape plus a displacement map to make the jaggedness. The wake is a painted transparency map that was applied the transparency box on a second diffuse (white) layer on my water material and set to channel 2 with no tiling. I think it turned out wonderfully but I need to add independent displacement to it because right now it has the same as the water.I have been told blending two separate materials will be in the next build.
Thanks for the compliments.

I hope to answer to a Question like this in the future!
But for now i have a lot of problem to prepare a scene for my catamarano project: the right render options and lights and a good water!!!
I study for now…and all the info in the forum is important.

AWSOME render!!! and nice design!!
Re: 90 meter mega yacht by Nautilus Studio
Very nice work! Especially the wake! I have been trying to achieve this for months but haven’t been able to. In the end I just photoshop my models into other images. There is nothing wrong with this except it limits the views that you can produce.
If you ever needed the extra design/modelling man power I would be honored to work with you… ;D I can send you some images of a 70m yacht I’ve been working on if need be as I can’t post them on here.
Cheers,
