A problem with my renders

I dont know, but i cant do this thing with vray. (sorry but my english)
In some images i can see of render made with vray, the reality of the image (i think) is made by the shadows areas that appears in the corners of the geometry (angles of walls, furnitures,…etc…)
i try a lot of ways, but i cant do this thing.
This angles always appears much iluminated than others parts of the render.

When i try a render with medium or high quality presets of Irradiance, in the part of pre-calc with preview, this angles appears dark, like i want, but in the last fase (render), it’s appear with so much ligth…

Any help please about this???

Sounds like light leaks.

Try this…

“Check sample visibility” in the Irradiance map settings.

Weld vertices in corners

If not…

Post images of the problem.

that is what i say…

do you have a light in your scene? it kinda looks like you might have max’s default lighting in your scene?

No Lights

No, no lights in the scene only the vray light in the window…and is not check DEFAULT LIGHT in global switches.

and i check “Check sample visibility” in the Irradiance map settings but the render is the same…

But one courios thing…
This is my viewport of the work, the scene in the viewport has no light…

May be the problem is the scale of the 3d???
All that model has 250x500 max units…

And this is the vray configuration

Like Percy Was starting to mention, Add an onmi, and turn it off. If that doesnt work, or if its still too bright, try turning off max’s exposure controls.

How is your light set?

Well…

Well, i done this test. If you look in the viewports images, the vray light is far from the window. i put the light closer and the thing is going better.
And other test is the parameters of ANTIALIASING, y test with direct computation (fast render but poor results) and other types of antialiasing filters…and the thing is going better, and better.
BUT, i not other things… the vray ligth dont have sharpeness shadows..
I am doing something wrong or to add sharpeness shadoe i must add other light??? like DIRECT SPOT???

TRAPEZIUM: my light configuration___only 1 vray in the window (now) or a little far in the viewport upload (you’ll see). And in enviroment---global lightning-----level=0,1

I will upload a new image later…
Thanks for help.

a: your preset settings are probably too low. b: check to see if there is any max environment lighting turned on (make it black). c: talk to vlado and peter about getting you listed as a registered user of vray advanced 1.45.70 which you should have been upgraded to 1.46.10 which is alot better IMHO. Once your properly registered you can start posting in the other sections where more of the regular users might be able to see your problem and offer help.

Looks like to me you are using the exposure control … just check that.

Natty

If you talk about EXPOSURE CONTROL in enviroment menu

Is selected NO EXPOSURE CONTROL

i dont see any problem with that image, if u have all material such bright, this should be okay.
Just a question, I am not sure what u really want to achieve, but did u checked the skylight portal option in vray light?
or maybe if its too much, there is some additional tinting/overmultipling on the scene, but for my eyes its seems to be okay.

I read it over again, u can try to use other kind of light, like target direct, and use max’s area shadow (lower the settings there) that might give u better shadows, but I think that calculates Irradiance slower a bit.

with only one vray light in the window like that, I cant imagine why his whole scene should be so bright, at least not normally.

What is your colormapping settings?

More images

Some images…

Without any lights…(and no GI)

Only GI (Override max)

GI (Override max) + vray light

GI (Override max) + vray light

And Other problem…the brick texture is in an 3d viz2005 object…but the texture appears blurry…why???

And color mapping…

NO G-BUFFER

EXPONENTIAL
Dark:1,0
Light: 1,0

AFFECT BACKGROUND: Yes

your first image…if there’s no lights and no GI, then why am I seeing light in your scene? I should only see the background period…

Ok… I think there are some fundamentals missing in your thinking.

Why do you keep saying things like I have no light just one VRayLight?

First, a VRayLight IS a light. When I ask you what is it set at I’m asking for the PARAMETERS of your light. There aren’t as many parameters as a standard MAX point light but they are still important.

I agree with losbellos… Where is the problem in that image other than the fact that you have a lot of light so the light bounces to other areas.

The last few images look fine for a small room which basically has one wall as a window.

Show a photograph of the lighting you want to achieve.

Draw some arrows to the areas of your image that bother you.

thats right …the first has GI ?

he said he had a vray light in the window of the first render.

is there an emoticon that pulls out a gun and shoots itself in the head out of utter confusion? :expressionless:

… will this one do> ?
