I have a question about VR , and I can’t find any answer about it.
I’m working for a client who would want to interact with objects in scene , in VR. By interaction I mean moving furnitures , this kind of action. Is that possible in Enscape ? And if it’s not , will it be a such a feature ?
It’s trully important for me , because it’s the first time I’m working with a client enjoying the VR system to apprehend scale of the scene to mek me helping him building the interior of his shop.
If Enscape can’t do such a thing , do you know a software that could help me ? Believe me when I’m coming to you with all my ignorance about this fact. The workflow with sketchup may not allow the inverse interaction. Moving things in sketchup , and see the immediate result in Enscape, but the opposite is possible ?
Hi @MaloneXI , thanks for your post and welcome to our Forum.
At the moment it is not possible to move or adjust objects from within VR. We have created a dedicated blog article which you can check out here which also goes into further detail how you can utilize different views or even perhaps different standalone files to present your project. Still, at the moment adjustments generally from within VR to SketchUp are not possible.
Instead you would have to rely mainly on different views through which you can teleport the client, or allow the client itself to switch between manually using the VR menu, but that still excludes moving around any objects/furniture.
Perhaps someone else has more feedback in regards to their workflows with and within VR but just to let you know.
This way we can further consider implementing something along those lines in the future. Thank you again in advance for any additional input on your behalf.
With the current state of things, interacting with objects in VR basically requires authoring a video game. You would need to use something like Unity or Unreal. Not an easy lift.
I would expect it to be a looong time before this sort of thing comes to Enscape or any other design/rendering package. So many variables in getting it to work and communicate with the various host programs.
