I see a new active body option with parameters for mass. Is this an exciting new feature ![]()
Yep, rigid bodies interacting with fluids is hopefully coming soon. It’s still a new feature so expect plenty of issues but if you’d like to test things out - you need to enable the Active Body option on the Phoenix FD properties and use the Liquid simulator (for Maya - Liquid tab → Enabled ).
A.k.a. get excited but a bit later
This is still a very first draft so it’s not working quite well yet.
I shall test the crap out of it… when I have a moment
Awesome news
Wow great feature. I guess this is just for a water collision. So if object is heavy it will not collide with pool bottom and go through it I guess? Also would be nice to have density added and not just mass. For example, a potato can weigh as much as apple but sinks and apple floats
And PLEASE add like a motor force option that way any object can move forward (follow path) and water can affect its physics. Good for boats hit by waves etc.
Thank you
Roger that! We’re also adding a bottom plane as we speak..
Cheers!
Thank you! Hopefully in a future releases we can add custom mesh for bottom planes like uneven ocean bottom, etc.
Yup, this as well
One by one starting with the basics we’ll build up complexity on top.
hi are active bodies working in version 3.1? is there collision plane ? Thanks
They are available only in the nightlies and are not present in 3.10 0 no bottom plane yet but I hope we’ll get there soon.
Cheers!
