Adobe CS3 - Impressions yet?!?

Just wanted to see if anyone has used it yet.

I’ve heard and read:

1) No longer 64-bit.
2) Imports 3ds geometry and other formats.

Thos are the two main things I am curious about.

I assume you’re talking specifically about Photoshop CS3 -- because the meaning of “Adobe CS3” is pretty wide open these days. Anyway, I don’t have it yet -- but what do you mean by “No longer 64 bit” ?

I assume photoshop cs 3 extended will import obj files too…3ds are crap.
I wish it can paint in 3D ala bodypaint, but im afraid u wont be able to projection paint anything there…It must be a primitive 3d painter, but of course, with the familiar photoshop tools…

About 64 bits…im not really sure i will be needing more than 3GB with photoshop in a while, but who knows

I would be delighted to ditch bodypaint forever, not because its bad, because its not, but to simplify things…photoshop is good, with 3d painting would be awesome!

Edit: After Effects would benefit greatly from 16 Gb ram! Pity i use combustion

Yeah correction - I meant the new Photoshop in particular.

And supposedly the new Photoshop is not 64-bit (at least the beta phases weren’t.) I haven’t heard anything since.

Photoshop Extended supports common 3D interchange formats, including 3DS, OBJ, U3D, KMZ, and COLLADA, so you can import, view, and interact with most 3D models.

Looks pretty awesome.

Easily render and incorporate rich 3D content into your 2D composites — even edit existing textures on 3D models directly within Photoshop Extended and immediately see the results.
Am I reading this right? We would be able to paint our custom textures directly on the model, export them somehow and use them in max? I agree that would be very, very cool.

Is vray for photoshop on the way???

if you want to see CS3 new features in action go there: The Russell Brown Show | Video Library

Where is it? I can´t seem to find it…

This video is particularly revealing:

AE CS3

PS CS3

Lol Panthon!
Top two

3d Formats in Photoshop… lol this is the best joke I´ve heard for quite a while .

Before they start supporting 3D Formats they´d better implement things like
a keyer (It so rediculous to see the flat designers still cutting out masks by hand), support for RPF/EXR formats or a simple glow filter (It can´t be that hard). And hopefully they will finally remove the f*****
“warning no pixels were selected” message.

I just can hope that Eyeon someday releases a Still Image Version of Digital Fusion…
and I could finally kick this Flat Desinger/Mac Monkey Toy of my computer.

What’s wrong with this message? Seems pretty straightforward-I was expecting to select some pixels and none were selected so it’s letting me know.

I agree though that Photoshop could use some other improvements before integrating 3D.

like beeing able to save a 2k HDR in under 20 minutes ? :stuck_out_tongue:

They are talking about better support for 32 bit images… any xperience with that?

And Lele, it seems u have to be registered to access those. I remember i was able to download the cs3 beta without registering from the adobe website…

Edit: the ones u posted are AE and premiere but not Photoshop! :frowning:
