Definitely always use a stable official release because render farms are picky about using dailies and won’t provide much assistance if you’re using a daily build to submit a rendering job to their systems, as @davetwo already mentioned.
Every render farm service has built its own pipeline, which in some cases will require you to prepare things according to their workflow in order to get an expected result.
This is an interesting post; I’m wondering about other users’ experiences using this type of service around the globe.
