I’m testing the AI Enhancer, but it’s not working as expected. See the attached sample.
The hair did not improve at all. Does the tool fail to recognize this as a person?
Does it require visible facial features in order to detect a person?
Is there any way to direct or control the type of enhancement being applied?
How exactly do “Object Enhancements” work? Where and how do I explicitly select “people” or similar object types?
For reference, when I use the same model facing the camera, the enhancement works as expected.
Object enhancements lets you point at the image (once you are in Edit → AI Enhance mode), and it will highlight any selectable objects under your mouse. You can see it here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5kGXiKR7DBE
You can also see if it recognizes it as a person when you click on it, as it will give you different options than if it thinks it is a non-person
You can raise the Creativity there to let it make more significant changes, for instance, which may help here. Right now it does look like it has just done an upscale, or a non-person enhancement. Let us know if this changes anything.
PS, there is also an option to provide feedback from the image - so if it has not recognized it as a person, you can use the Give Feedback and say “Did not recognize it as a person”, and then this goes straight to the Machine Learning team (as we at Corona don’t work on the AI side, but rather we make sure we provide the AI tools with what they need in terms of image format, render elements, etc. so that the AI tools can do their job; this keeps the AI tools universal, and means you don’t need to wait for an update to Corona to be able to take advantage of the latest features in the AI tools).
You are welcome! Do send in the feedback via the Enhancer option if it is definitely not recognizing it as a person (that is, not giving you “person modifications” when selected as an object - or even if it is not recognizing it as a defined separate object at all and not letting you select it). The AI team are always looking for ways this can be improved!
