AI Modeler for 3ds Max

Hi all.

I think that when we first got into 3D, this was our dream: something that would integrate into the interface, where we could upload a reference photo of the object we wanted to use in the scene and automatically have it ready to work with in three dimensions.

Well, I’ve got it now and it works brilliantly, integrating the MeshyAI modeller into the 3ds Max interface. The script is completely free. Here are the steps so I can send it to you and you can start using it:

  1. Register with MeshyAI via this link: www.meshy.ai?via=senapaula
    You must use that link so it links to your account.
  2. Once you’ve registered, send me an email to ivanzabalzagonzalez@hotmail.es with the email address you used to register. If you haven’t registered via the address above, it won’t work.
  3. I’ll send the script to that email address.
  4. You’ll need to link your API in the script (if you don’t know how, just ask me),
  5. For this, you’ll need a MeshyAI subscription; I recommend the cheapest one.

If anyone has any issues with the installation, please let me know, but it’s very straightforward. In any case, I think this tutorial covers everything, (sorry… in spanish)

I think meshy already has that link

This could be adapted to use a local AI model as well. Just need to let it use a local address instead of the Meshy URL and configure the model output folder so it can pick it up. Now THAT I’d use :slight_smile:

No, what Meshy has is a bridge that transfers models from Meshy to 3ds Max. This is a script that runs directly within 3ds Max.

Meshy’s output is still a 3d model of some description, therefore it stands to reason that having a way to run a model generation task, say, through comfyui, from max, and then automatically collecting the resulting model and texture and importing them into Max is quite doable, although it would be a different codepath. This is also the exact thing all those “bridge” scripts and plugins (quixel, for example) do.
