AlphaButton Drawing Generator — Automatically generate technical drawings inside 3ds Max, no AutoCAD required.
Hello everyone!
As an architect and archviz artist, I’ve always struggled with the routine workflow of exporting my 3ds Max models to third-party CAD software just to create basic technical blueprints or client layouts.
To automate this bottleneck, I developed AlphaButton Drawing Generator — a native 3ds Max utility that generates clean, standards-compliant vector PDF drawing sets directly from the viewport in just two steps: Select geometry ➔ Click Generate.
Watch the plugin in action on YouTube:
Key features:
-
Viewport to PDF: Generates orthographic and section sheets in three visual styles: Classic CAD (Visible Edges), Hidden & Visible Edges, or Shaded with Edges.
-
Automated Detail Sheets: Automatically extracts selected parts onto dedicated detail sheets with proper scale ratios.
-
Auto-BOM: Generates structured specification tables (Bills of Materials) automatically linked to drawing callouts.
-
Units: Full support for both Metric (mm) and Imperial (inches).
-
Compatibility: Supports 3ds Max 2024, 2025, 2026, and 2027.
It is render-engine agnostic and works perfectly with any standard geometry, V-Ray, or Corona assets (with proper modifiers/editable geometry).
Currently, I have released a pre-release version with a fully functional 7-day Free Trial (no registration, email, or credit card inside the plugin required).
You can download the trial package (which also includes a sample Max scene and generated PDF examples) directly from our Patreon post:
