I’m planning to build a new workstation, and I’m deciding between AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1950X vs Intel i9-7900X
Which one is better for Corona?

Do not look at overclocked CPUs, just default values.

Also, AMD is not so much slower ins single thread

I got a 1950x last week. very happy with the performance for the price!
I looked at the benchmarks on the Linus Tech Tips threadripper workstation build and based my new build off that.

I’ve had a 1950x for a few months now. I’ve found it to be a good bang for your buck, stable and very overclockable…mine is stable and cool at 3.9ghz with an AIO water unit.. I’d say it’s a better value overall but opinions may vary.
