Anima download speed is just ridiculous

We are getting from 0.59 to 1mb/s …this is absurd in 2025…each 4d walking asset could be 400 to 500 mb …
Please do something to help your customers use the product.

The download speed for Anima content is expected to be around ~8 Mbytes per second. It may sometimes be different depending on the bandwidth used at that moment, but very rarely lower than 3 or 4 Mbytes per second.

This should allow downloading a 4D model (~300 Mb) in less than a minute (40s), and a Rigged or Posed model (~60 Mb) in less than 10 seconds.

Please, keep in mind there may be issues related to parts of the internet infrastructure between the Chaos servers and your location that have no relation to us. It often happens that simply using a VPN to switch the endpoint location of the user connection fixes the speed problems. An alternative way to identify this kind of infrastructure issues is to use temporarily use an alternative internet provider network. For example, it is easy to access the mobile network from your computer by enabling the “share Wi-Fi” feature on the phone and check the speed there. If the speed is the expected one in the alternative network, it means that the problem is related to the particular ISP (Internet Service Provider) where your device is connected.

Also, notice you can check the status of our services anytime, including Anima-related ones, at the following web page:

I routinely get 0.5mb/sec. It takes 30minutes to download several characters. I have no VPN, no Proxy, and very fast hardwired network service. What else can I look at or try to get the speed up?

Hi @RobH22

We recently removed one of the download servers from the download cluster, as it may have been causing some intermittent issues. These issues depend heavily on the location from which the download is being performed, so we aren’t 100% certain that this is the cause of the problem you’ve been experiencing.

Please check again and let us know if now the download process is working better for you.
