Anima Time Control / MB for Static Motion Blur in Vray GPU not working

Hi Team Chaos,
bit frustrated as I fail miserably to get the Static Motion Blur effect to work that used to work just fine and is even advertised by you in your docs (and I was actually working with narrativ who created the video showcasing the feature)

When I use anima drop actors, all time controls are greyed out, when I convert it to a scene the initial motion state is offset randomly (different pose in 3dsmax vs anima viewport, no matter how many times I save or update). It even worked fine last night but after an update to Vray 7 upd 3 it seems to be broken. or am I doing sth severely wrong?

System is running Max 2026 (285.3.0.30732), Vray 7 (GPU) Upd 3 DR2 (7.30.02 build 00000), Anima 6.3.0

I uploaded both files (drop and converted to scene) for you to check at SwissTransfer - Send large files securely and free of charge

Looking forward to hearing from you, thx a heap in advance and br

Hannes

Am I doing something badly wrong or is this just not of interest? Any help or hints in the right direction would be highly appreciated!

Hi @johannes_wolfgangknig

I’m writting here just to mention that we answered this question through the Chaos Help Center, in the support request you recently send to us there. Sorry for not answering before. Sometimes it is difficult for us to notice new forum posts, but are we constantly monitoring the help center, so please contact us there for assistance in any urgent matter you may be facing.

As mentioned in the answer we sent you in the ticket, we don’t have issues when we try to replicate the same setup described in the documentation. We tried to open the scene you shared with us, but the packages don’t include all the Anima project files, only the *.aniproj, which is not enough for us to open the scene here.

That said, we successfully replicated a similar setup to the one explained in the docs that you mentioned → [Full Playback Control
