Animation Noise

Hi everybody,

We are having troubles with noise in the animations. We have tried a lot of diferent settings, but nothing have solved the problem. Take a look at the link:

Thank’s in advance.

hard to say really. You need to provide some screenshots of your settings your currently using.

Ok. See this link, please:

lol your screen shot needs work. You’ve duplicated it. Especially important are your qmc settings. Adaptive qmc AA is highly dependent on your global qmc settings.

Hi Percy, even with fixed AA the problem was not solved.

yes well fixed AA isn’t necessarily going to do a better job at noise then any other method. Might even do worse.

I would say that most of it looks like AA noise in the animation. Try adaptive subdivision at 0,3 and see how it looks. I just think your not getting enough AA samples. Anyone else have a looky?

AA settings need to be extremely high to get the grass to stop shimmering. Just too many sub-pixel edges.

Our solution is to render the grass at 2x the output size and comp it back in.
