What I’ve noticed for a long time, but more so recently, is that anisotropic materials do not stretch reflections straight up and down or across, but rather it stretches them in a curving direction. Is there any way to correct this and not have curving reflections?
Try using ward shading mode. Then anisotropy
will work just fine.

I have tried ward too. No such luck. I am rendering a very large plane that I am trying to get anistropic reflections from. Either way I try it they keep getting curved.
I think I remember reading that you have to use UVW mapping to tell VRay which direction you want the anisotropy to affect.
Not sure though…

Can post an image of what you are getting?

Sure, I will post in a little bit.
