Wow, where’s the WIP in that?
Nice! Red and clean - i like it!
Maybe work a bit on the environment - otherwise it’s perfect!
Nice one :!:
Would you mind giving an explanation of your tire, rim and brake material setup?
yep, maybe mon or tues i’ll post some info on wheel stuff…
Well here are some suggestions, not necessarily vray issues but just issues.
Right now w/ the cloned tires and rims they are very flat, turn on around a little bit, make it look like it was driven up to the spot. Also, you may want to slightly turn the front tires and maybe show off a little bit more of the front tires. Just to make it more pleasant to the eye. I suggest looking at cars in magazine or commercials they always make them look perdy.
Also you might want to consider a touch of DOF and a direct light instead of just relying on the GI.
Other then those tiny suggestions i think it looks nice, also a nice contrast with the grungy walls and the clean cars.
i never thought about rotating my instanced wheels…now that i look at it, it seems retarded that they would have the exact same position ![]()
nice points
red looks a little too red for me…i think ferrari red is a little deeper/darker.
The reflection is SOOOO buttery, loeverly.
trapezium, let me know what specifics that you are interested in. I don’t know if you are referring to materials/geometry/render/all info.. etc

Hey Coin-op..
Nice work .. ![]()
Did you get the model from somewhere or did you model the vehicle yourself… ??
Leo
Thanks for the compliment Leo.
The vehicle was originally a 6000 triangle game model (done by one of our in-house modellers according to tamiya schematics), which I up-rezed and added the fine details, eg, doorlines, grills, brake calipers, engine, etc. The model is then prepared for meshsmoothing in max, and the result is about 200k triangles.
I plan to model a different car in rhino in the near future… It is a real pain making a car accurate without any sort of real surfacing tools ![]()
I guess I was just wondering about the material setup but, if you want, it would be nice to see the meshes you’ve created also. It all works so well together.
Hey Man … While we’re at it..
Does anyone know a web site that has good model cars that I can download for FREE??? ![]()
I know that there are alot of web-sites that have low poly cars. But there should be a high poly one too… somewhere out there…
Leo
I suppose it depends what you mean by good… nothing that i have seen for free is really all that great
Well let me put it this way .. I would like to try a vehicle in VRAY .. so the car needs to be fine enough for a close up..
Maybe as good as the one you have in the image.. or something close..
