another italian job

this time just a mini on its own…few things we’re not happy with, but time is money.

very god job i like it.

 from linda

Nice work DP…great modelling. Only comment would be that the materials let is down. Most of the surfaces still look “plastic” instead of metallic. Perhaps more dynamic range in the reflection environment might help.

er … is it a NPR-rendering ?

its a big standard vray rendering. The only thing that has HDRI on it is the windscreen, the rest has a fairly simple reflection map, and there was nothing else in the scene apart from a white ground plane.

I know what you mean about the plastic feel, unfortunately CYMK robs some life out of it, but still i think the material needs more work…perhaps if i find a suitable HDRI, i’ll give that a wack…

well, perhaps the plastic look lured me that it’s a non-photorealistic rendered picture … but i like it
it has quite tangible outlines and looks like a 2D drawing somehow … i think it’s already beautiful this way 8)

hmmmmmmm

if you guys dont like it …can u send it to me for a spin

i still havent seen the movie and you guys keep wetting my appetite

good job guy

I agree with what everyone else has said - the modelling looks spot on, but at the moment the render looks like vector/illustrator artwork.

I think this is largely down to the number of gradient-esque areas (roof, windscreen, doors). Personally, I’d lose the specualrs on the front (near the headlights) too. They make it look more like plastic.
