2 hours? blimey I suck
the glass door looks a bit narrow to me though
yeah it decieving, the ceiling is very high .. 3000mm or there abouts.. so the sliding door does look thin. ![]()
Nice image.. the lighting is near perfect.
looks great! do you prefer the grainy look to the shadows over using the irradiance map to blur them?
Yeah to be honest i do .. but the Qmc was quite low to allow for quick turn around.
$#%#^@# you and your two hours hehehe. just goes to show how much i suck. hey. setup a video camera loking over your shoulder and pop in a 2 hour tape and you can sell the tapes as “how to do this in 2 hours” hehe. id love to see you at work and your techniques and work habbits
Nice job, love it.
Hey I’ve wondered about some posts from the Arch Viz community. When you say it took however many hours… Are you saying that you modeled all of that also or is it primarily the materials, placement and lighting? Very impressive either way ![]()

Yeah from start to finnish .. apart from the stock models like seating i do it all .. I think because ive been doing this sort of stuff now for around cough cough 12 years … im fast, i know exactly what makes a material act the way it does and can quickly tweak Qmc settings to get fast results.
At the end of the day the quicker i can produce this work the more money i can make, its not all about money i know … i love what i do, ive just become very efficient at it ! and i love money lolololol …
If anyone wants me to show some modelling technique’s in a screen capture, i can do that. .. some fast ways of producing this stuff..

Yes please!
please do. please do. it took me about 3 months or so to build http://www.elfpro3d.com/GS/Marina/test20.jpg and i was talking with percy and he said he could do that in a couple of weeks rather than a couple of months. all be it there were no digital blueprints to start with. all was on paper. and i ran into tonnes of architectural errors they never noticed untill i started modeling it in 3d. i too love what i do however i still have to pay bills. right now im only barely breaking even and would love to be able to actually make profits. that marina project was 3500$ USD so obviously if it took a few months it really wasnt worth the work put into it.
i’ll see what i can do..

When we run into ‘errors’ - we interprit them as best we can, and if the client wants it changed, we charge extra for “additiona service” beyond our original contract at an hourly rate defined in the contract. Just like a contractor does with “change orders”. Don’t let them use you for free error-checking.
yeah. im now learning these things. my little business is only 1.5 years old and although ive been plying with 3d for a very very long time. doing arch viz is totally new to me. atleast im breaking even with all my bills. but ill definately like to make profits. only way to do that without raising price is to work faster.
Id be realy interested in seeing some of your techniques natty ![]()

Perhaps you can set up a webcam and charge us so we can follow you around for a month… Kind of like Big Brother without being voted off.
In all seriousness - that would be fantastic.
