Our Corporate security team wants to install Symantec on our Linux VRay farm. Have any of you had trouble with Symantec or other Anti-Virus software interfering with rendering?
I’ve never encountered any issues with Symantec .
It’ll be best if you test on a couple of nodes first. I cannot say I have seen specific issues with Symantec, but different AV software blocks enough things randomly and I wouldn’t trust it without testing. I’ve seen problems with AV software blocking executables, turning off services because they consume processing power??, deleting files etc, so testing and tuning is recommended. I’ve never seen an antivirus on Linux, however. If you find anything blocked incorrectly you can message us or Symantec directly.
