Just ran the executable for Advanced (1.09.03r) and am waiting fro an authorization code.
Is the full functionality of the renderer available to me without the code?

It shouldnt be no … unless you have an old autho code already on your machine
make sure I understand
Okay…so…if I understand correctly, the scene will render but the full functionality of the V-Ray plugin won’t be available to me until I get my code.
I can see a finished rendering but the image quality is poor and I do not see anywhere in the interface where I can make adjustments to the AA, etc.
vray should not work at all ! not unless you have old autho info in your registry
forgot to ask this too…
I have scoured the V-ray website looking for any info on basic system requirements. I swear I saw it somewhere, but cannot remember where. I believe it addressed issues relative to compatible video cards.
Know anything about this?
so let me get you right… you have paid for vray but not received your Autho code yet ?
if so vray should not work
clarification…
Yep…paid for it and installed the executable.
I launch Max and select the V-Ray renderer under assign renderer dialog.
The render dialog pops up and I can see the V-Ray messages window as the scene renders. All the stuff appears there as the scene renders away; number of lights, irradiance sample info, etc.
Under the render dialog you usually have four tabs: Common, Renderer, Raytrace, and Advanced Lighting.
If I select the renderer tab, all I see if a splash image of V-ray’s logo.
So…that’s what prompted the question about whether or not I have full access to the renderer or if I must wait for my code to get at the guts.
Does that help?
when you start max you should get a box come up asking for your code and other stuff …
yep…
Yes…I get the box each time I choose the V-ray renderer. It’s looking for the code I suspect.
Is it your understanding that once the proper code is put into the box, the full feature set of the product appears magically?
I’m really confused.
yes thats correct ![]()
thanks
Thank you very much. I appreciate your willingness to answer my questions.
Saw your website. Do you use V-Ray exclusively on your projects? I’m a Brazil user until recently. Decided to invest in V-Ray in order to trim render times. If possible!
Very nice work indeed.
Welcome to the forum jojo.
Do you use V-Ray exclusively on your projects  ofcoures
