Anyone tried it now when it is finally finished. Have only used FR Stage-0.
Stage 0 wasn’t great but at least the features sounds very good for Stage0. I esp like the ability to have a distributed render that also divides the GI process, since this is usually the slowest part for me. It would be more than amazing to have 6 machines working on one picture at one time so the previous would be so much faster than now.
If Stage-0’s version of distributed rendering is actually working as explained then I hope we will see something similar in Vray in an existing future.
I have been part of Stage 1 beta. I don’t know how much they finally changed in the RC Version, because I didn’t had time then to test it.
All I can say is, there are many things I miss in Vray. But there is one thing keeping me with, it’s speed!
Well, Stage 1 is not slow, it’s compareable to MentalRay or Brazil. It’s features are enormous and it take you some time to learn them all. I really love the way to have extremly nice working shader like glas (without troubles and real fresnel) and metal.
Distributed rendering is also easy in Vray. I really like letting other computer render my scene while working in Max. Anyhow, the downside is, you need more computer.
I hope cebas will do a demo Version, but more then that I hope the Vray-Team take the insperiations and make a real great Vray 1.1.
