@priad normally we work with physical cam and sunsystem. for this shot we used the “old” setup with area lights in front of the windows. the first bounces is QMC, secondary is LC.
@andrius alpha vision ? this is a different company. and no, they did not change the name. they are still there.
personal opinion, but the books seem to large, and the flooring texture scale seems to small. I could be wrong, but Ive never seen flooring boards in that manner so narrow.
The hinges on the doors, I think should be on the other side of the doors.
The ‘work of art’ on the far wall, looks really incongruous with the elaborate moulding and chandeliers. I think a very large mirror with a really detailed frame would look killer there.
Im not completely in love with the furniture in the foreground. But maybe its the entire point of the image, what do i know.
Very Nice Rendering! Your modeling, lighting and materials look excellent.
I think a little more "pronounced’ volume light would look great in this image.
great image as well as all your works in the web site.
I’ve always been a fan of kunstraum.tv works
can you tell us more about the settings?
what are the global qmc settings when using qmc for first bounce?
what aa are you using for stills? and which one for animation?
Gili
thanks for the replies. but before i really want to thank again all the people in the office who worked on the images of the website and especially this one.
concerning the questions. the subdivision of the primary qmc were 64. all lights in front of the windows have direct shadows with 40 subdivision. the aa settings were 0/3 with mitchel. for animation we often use adaptive with 1/4 or even 1/5 …some settings are quite heavy, I know and actually just to handle with a renderfarm, but it´s often worth the extra time
Your curtains are the best I’ve seen yet!
You took the words right out of my mouse! Curtains are usually the first thing that I look at in an image to verify if it’s real or not. These come way close. All that molding detail is displacement mapped right?
