Apple Mac Pro Case + Studio setup

Hello,

I did a small test (5h for modelling lightning & rendering) to mimic the apple commercials studio setup, and the apple Mac Pro. No tutorial here, but the scene can check out the light setup that can be found here : http://www.sharecg.com/v/12703/3d-model/Apple-Mac-Pro

IMO it need a slight dome light to avoid dark areas in the crossing shadows of the light, but otherwise it’s very clos to the commerical lightning Apple did for this product.

I did the model, so feel free to use it (Case is mid/high poly (10k) Bouttons, switches and fans are lowpoly, and easily replacable if you want to add details…and share those :stuck_out_tongue: )

doesnt look real. its missing that “warning:: piece of crap:: buy a PC::” lable on it

Thank you Da_Elf, I wasn’t expecting such constructive comment from someone with 6000+ posts on this forum…

looks great, but did you use some old photos for reference? I have 2 new mac pros and they have 2 slots in the front, and more connections in the lower left side, and the backside doesn’t have two holes for fans, there is just one big one.

da_elf: bullocks!.. it is a pc and for sure not a piece of crap, I have never had such a high performing computer that is so stable, well laid out inside and easy to expand, and one of the best things is they don’t make a noise, I sometimes have a single external harddrive for backup on, and that drive alone is over twice as loud as the entire computer.

Yep that’s right. My two coworkers have the version you describe. The reference was obviously an elder model.

I’ll maybe adapt it when i’ll have time, or if I do the highpoly version of the switches…

I think daelf was just trying to pop a joke. Sometimes his island rum tendencies can be difficult to distinguish.

Very nice work.
Someone knows who to do it but with a clear white background?
When i try to do that i always get gray areas or over exposed areas or both.

Thx

Onz

Thats a pretty neat render.. and many thanks for the scene

Mac’s are quiet try.. but they can get rather noisy once the fans spin up.. well certainly on the older G5’s (my boss’s one can make a right racket once its gets a bit hot under the collar"

Also I wouldnt say the Mac’s are any more or less stable than any well built PC. Its most likely going to come down to the operating system not the hardware.

you can try doing it in passes
