We are experiencing a rather annoying issue with ArchiCAD 26 & Enscape 4.0.2.11 where the View Manager inside Enscape causes the ArchiCAD API to scroll through the saved 3D Views for Enscape inside ArchiCAD in an endless loop. It continues even when Enscape is closed, forcing us to end task on ArchiCAD in Windows 11.
Has anyone else experienced anything like this?
It appears that when Enscape is opened, the view opens, then ArchiCAD in the background starts cycling through 3D views, like its updating all the views in the background, and highlights the view as active being ‘Enscape_OriginalView’
It chews up all the available system resources, and in some cases crashes Enscape and ArchiCAD.
Hi, I am also an architect, and I had the exact same issue, with Archicad 25 and Enscape 4.1 (I had this issue with older versions of Enscape already). I tried deleting all 3D views except two, and the bug still occured, making archicad endlessly cycle between both views, displaying “Enscape_OriginalView” when it is the current view.
If your problem happened in a shared project aswell, I just tried something that made it better.
I went on the embedded library, and reserved the “Enscape Assets” and “EnscapeTextures” folders. Since I did that, it doesn’t cycle endlessly anymore, it just cycles once on my 2 views (so deleting all of the other views was useful), and then I can use archicad normally.
Thanks for your reply, yes I had tried reserving the Embedded Library’s and yes it does stop the cycling.
It looks like Enscape goes searching for permission from the “Enscape_OriginalView” to access the embedded libraries, we tried reserving all in Teamwork and that also resolves the issue.
Not that great if you have several users rendering in Enscape at the same time though…
I’ll keep trying other options and let you know how we get on.
Happy it helped, even though problems are still there. I have been in contact with the Enscape support about this issue, but for now we didn’t find any solution.
We only tried downgrading one version, and clean reinstalling the gpu drivers, but we will keep digging.
I also tried on non shared projects and the issue persists. (non endless cycling through enscape views)
Hey, for the OP and whomever is running into the same annoying bug: I fixed it by deleting the favorited views on my enscape.
I encountered the same bug on enscape 4.7.057 and Archicad 27 3001, on Windows 10, still not fixed, over a year later. Enscape gotta work on fixing it, it’s detestable.
I noticed my enscape looping through my favorite views, although not endlessly, so as to not lose the views completely, I went on archicad with enscape closed, opened the favorite views and created new ones from the affected ones and deleted the favorites from Archicad. Next time i started enscape it was fixed. And it happened twice to me, the first time I didn’t know what caused it so I deleted all views. I guess don’t create favorites in Enscape lol.
Thanks, that actually worked. but setting up the views (mostly linking the visual presets) in the vie management, is still a pain in the neck.., And I can never be sure what comes out of the batch renders.
Oh, and the perspective in the ArchiCAD window and the in the Enscape sometimes totally different. The 2 software deals with the view field angles differently.
